“Connected Through Collections” was the subtitle of the exhibition “from...to..., Zarkashat Turathia,” which emerged from a collaborative research project that brought together members of Syrian communities in Germany with the staff and collections of the Ethnological Museum—thus connecting them with one another. the exhibition managed to open the so-called Syrian collection of the Ethnological Museum in Berlin to people from her homeland and to forge new connections between the objects and the people whom fate had also brought to Berlin or Germany, whether long ago or more recently.
